Students just finished reading one of three books for our Salem Witch Trials literature circle unit. The books included The Witch of Blackbird Pond, Time of the Witches, and A Break with Charity.
At the end of our unit, each literature circle group worked on a joint summary of the novel that described the main characters, settings, three major events, and two themes they saw. In addition, each student brought in two items for a jackdaw project. The items could be pictures or objects and students shared how they related to the novel.
Some of the jackdaws shown below are Kit's dresses from The Witch of Blackbird Pond, a venus glass from A Break with Charity, and a picture of a lute from Time of the Witches.
