Today was Retreat Day for the Middle School and 5th grade had a great time. This morning, students took part in two group activities outside that helped us talk about team-building, leadership, and the importance of working together.
First students were divided into two groups and given the task of sorting themselves from youngest to oldest by birth date. During the second activity, students were partnered and told to choose a names that went together, like "peanut butter and jelly." They were then blindfolded and had to locate their partner by calling out their names. During the second round, the rules were changed which led to a great discussion about playing fair and the importance of following the rules.
